INTERESTS

As well as enjoying being at a computer for numerous hours I have always had a passion for performing, I have dedicated over 15years of my life to the performing arts doing theatre shows, voiceovers and a bit of TV. Most recently, I work as a scare actor at Tulleys farm Shocktoberfest. I have been doing this for 4 years now and will try to continue it for as long as I can. Working there includes acting and scaring in a variety of different high-impacts scare mazes; I also work in the daytimes as a children's entertainer (I play lot's of fun quirky characters).

I feel that because I have this acting and character work experience I can portray emotions and gestures when animating a lot easier. I would also love to animate a game or a short film based on Tulleys farm and the scary yet hilarious characters that are unleashed from it each October!

Sailing

I am also part of the University of Portsmouth Sailing Club as sailing is a fun hobby of mine. I mostly enjoy yachting but love to go out in our dinghies too. After graduating I was able to obtain my RYA Day Skipper qualification which allows me to charter and skipper yachts up to 45ft. In my second year, I was the society's secretary which meant I supervised the social media section of the club as well as helping to run and also minute committee meetings. I really enjoyed this role as I loved looking after the club's social media and being the first to respond to any emails or queries!

Through the club I have got to sail yachts a lot more, as well as obtaining my Day Skipper, I also have my Powerboat level 2, dinghy sailing level 2 and VHF Radio qualification. If I had more free time I would like to get into racing yachts as I really enjoy the teamwork involved in doing so.

Below there's Jonathon Howe's video of our club's yacht trails with a 360 tack shot - you can guess who's wearing the pink!

Explore au Québec

I have a keen interest in learning French, I would say I am at an intermediate level - I try and learn as much as I can when given the opportunity however England as opposed to somewhere like Montreal has a lot less francophone inhabitants.

I am a Canadian citizen as well as British, I am very lucky to have dual-nationality as it means I can travel and live in both countries with ease. I lived in Montreal for a couple of months in 2015 after completing my 5 week french immersion course at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières with 'Explore'. I also went back to Canada last summer (2018) to do this experience  again but  at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi a couple of hours further north from where I was based previously, this was 99% Francophone and we were occupied with activities and meals 9 - 5 each day - this was great for improving and learning more Quebecois.
